The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) – Fargo District – would like to update the traveling public on the West Fargo Main Avenue reconstruction project. Starting tomorrow, Wednesday June 27 at 7AM, the intersection of 9th St. NE. /E. and Main Ave. will become accessible to north to south through traffic and reopen to motorists.

The reopening of the intersection will allow:

  • Motorists on 9th St. NE. /E. to be able to cross over Main Ave.
  • Traffic traveling southbound on 9th St. NE. will be able to access Main Ave.
  • Traffic traveling northbound on 9th St. E. will be able to access the eastbound and westbound traffic flow of Main Ave.
  • Motorists will be able to travel eastbound and westbound throughout the Main Ave. corridor as current traffic control has set up in the construction zone.

There will be a four-way stop present on each side of the intersection and flaggers will be present.

The north to south closure was required as crews removed the intersection pavement and install new underground storm sewer system and water pipelines for the area. The City of West Fargo updated the railroad crossing north of this intersection as well.

Motorists also need to be aware of workers and equipment in near proximity to traffic throughout the construction area. The speed limit in this work zone is 25mph.
