7th Avenue N/I-29 Overpass Opens for Motorists

Project Update for: 7th Ave N Bridge Over I-29

project details

August 6, 2012

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) – Fargo District – would like to update the traveling public on the 7th Avenue North separation project on the overpass. In the evening of Monday, August 6, 2012, the 7th Ave. N. overpass of Interstate 29 (I-29) will be re-opened to traffic. Motorists will be head-to-head, one lane in each direction, as work continues on the cross road and overpass. Additional lanes of traffic may open in each direction when project work allows. When complete there will be two lanes of traffic, one in each direction and left turn lanes when needed as you cross the interstate.

Also lanes closures in both the northbound and southbound direction on I-29 will remain in effect as crews continue to work on the lower portion of the structure. There are two lanes of traffic currently open in both direction of I-29.

Motorists should be aware of trucks and equipment entering and exiting the work zone on the interstate and obey posted speed limits. Traffic congestion may occur at merging points and motorists may experience brief delays. Weather dependent, work will continue through Oct. 2012.
