Project Update for: 7th Ave N Bridge Over I-29

project details

June 20, 2012

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) – Fargo District – would like to update the traveling public on the 7th Avenue North overpass bridge project. Crews will be setting additional beams over the interstate on south side of the bridge during the late evening on both Wednesday and Thursday this week. This work is weather dependent. The project work will be done in segments and will enter phase 1C traffic control. During this project work, motorists will observe the following:

  • Starting at 10PM, tonight, Wednesday, June 20, work will begin on south side of the bridge. This work will result in a temporary closure of the interstate in the southbound lanes only. This will temporary close the southbound lanes of I-29 from Main Ave. N. to 12th St. N. The northbound lanes of I-29 will remain open for traffic during this project work. The southbound lanes will reopen by 5AM on Thursday, June 21.

The detour for this temporary closure will direct motorists traveling southbound on I-29 to use 35th St. NW. and 36th St. N.

  • On Thursday, June 21, starting at 10PM, work will occur on the north side of the bridge and northbound lanes of I-29 will be temporary closed from Main Ave. N. to 12th St. N. The northbound lanes will be reopened by 5AM on Friday, June 22. Southbound lanes of I-29 within this work zone will remain open.

The detour for this temporary closures will direct motorists traveling northbound on I-29 to use 36th St. N. and 35th St. NW.

Phase 1B traffic control will go back into place and the inside and median lanes will be open for interstate travel throughout the work zone on I-29.

The traveling public should use caution when driving through the construction zone. Motorists should allow for extra time when navigating through the temporary detour and expect delays.
