SCOPE
A 9.5-mile stretch of I-29 will be reconstructed north of Cass County 20 (to north of Argusville). Northbound lanes were reconstructed in 2009 and southbound lanes will be reconstructed in 2010. The interchange at I-29 and Cass County 20 will also be reconstructed.
PURPOSE
This roadway project will improve pavement conditions on the interstate. The roadbed will be raised about 1 foot, which will help to lessen the number of closures due to water on the roadway.
FUNDING
The estimated cost of the project is $15.3 million. Funding will be 90 percent federal and 10 percent state.
START
Crews will place crossovers in May, with traffic being shifted to a head-to-head configuration starting June 1.
