July 30 Northbound I-29 Off-Ramp Closed at 52nd Ave S Interchange
Fargo, N.D. — The North Dakota Department of Transportation has scheduled the closure of the off-ramp in the southeast quadrant of the Interstate-29 and 52nd Ave. S interchange. Beginning Friday morning, August 1st, at 6:00 a.m., northbound I-29 traffic will no longer be able to exit at 52nd Ave. S. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes or exit I-29 at 32nd Ave. S. Southbound I-29 traffic will still be able to access 52nd Ave. S via the temporary loop ramp that was opened last week.
The removal of this ramp is part of the 52nd Ave. S interchange reconstruction project. The alignment of the new off-ramp inhibits crews from maintaining traffic on the existing ramp during construction. To minimize the duration of this traffic impact, the NDDOT contract only allows crews to keep the off-ramp closed for a maximum period of 45 days. Therefore, the new southeast off-ramp is expected to be operational by mid-September.
